Report a rights violation
If a Sinmungo post violates your rights, report it here.
Posts on Sinmungo (the request board) are anonymous. If you see a post that violates your reputation, likeness, privacy or other rights, report it below.
How to report
Send the following to our contact address: ① the right violated (defamation, privacy, etc.) ② the post's URL ③ your contact information for a reply ④ why you believe it is a violation.
What happens
Under Korea's Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network (Article 44-2), the post is temporarily hidden (up to 30 days) as soon as we receive the report. Since authors are anonymous, individual notice is replaced with a “hidden due to a rights-violation report” label in its place. If no objection arrives within 30 days it is deleted; if one does, the operator decides (the same procedure applies to Article 44-3 discretionary action).
Retention
Report records are kept for one year after handling.
